Hello YouTube Team,

We would like to appeal this warning and removal of “Arizona Talks: Election Integrity & Voting Rights | October 19 Policy Talk (Full Video)” based on the fact that this video should not—and is not intended to—advance “false claims that widespread fraud, errors, or glitches changed the outcome of the U.S. 2020 presidential election.”

This was a recording of a live public policy event that included multiple people who dispute claims like this and have no interest in advancing them.

Even our guest who took a more critical stance on the operation of the election did not at any point in the video directly state that the outcome of the U.S. 2020 presidential election was changed, even if viewpoints on how the election went overall—with a specific focus on Arizona—did differ.

Furthermore, this was a debate. People in debates argue about details. This is an essential part of democracy. Our goal is to empower people by presenting these viewpoints in an unbiased fashion. By censoring good-faith efforts like ours, you’re undermining democracy. We support the right of companies to decide what they do and don’t want on their platforms, but we implore you to at the very least be consistent and fair in applying your guidelines and to not silence all conversation out of blind fear. Nothing good will come of it.
