About the Event

What is this about?

With growing concerns about misinformation and bias, a significant part of the public believes that trust in the media is at an all-time low. Arizonans believe that media coverage of candidates contributes to political division. In a recent survey by the Center for the Future of Arizona, 85% of voters, including supermajorities across all political affiliations and age groups, said that news media coverage of political parties and candidates has created more division.

This erosion of trust has serious implications, not just for how information is consumed, but also for the health of our democracy and the well-being of our communities. How are local news institutions addressing these concerns, adapting their practices, and working to rebuild trust to help strengthen our society?
